La Reina Del Grito

Every year in Brownsville–the tip of Texas which borders Mexico–a grito contest is held.

A grito is a yell, an interjection, a form of expression; and a piece of Mexican culture heritage. Marisa is the contest’s reigning queen, but there is a title she’s even more proud of.
